Get ready for STEAMovate SSIS, an event that spotlights innovative projects where parents, teachers, and students come together to showcase, demonstrate, and test the latest innovations in learning at SSIS. From robotics, apps, cutting-edge technology, and scientific processes, this event is all about exploring how innovation is reshaping the way we teach and learn. You can expect hands-on experiences, interactive workshops, and plenty of opportunities to witness the future of education.
CTP Testing
CTP testing continues this week. There is a small chance that the test will crash. This is not an SSIS issue and cannot be fixed by IT. If you encounter issues please let us know so we can support students who encounter this.
#DragonsIgnite
The power of reflection – I recently reflected with the fifth-grade team after completing their SuperUnit 4 launch. Returning team members walked us through the “why” behind exploring Mars rovers, directly linking it to science and information literacy standards. Reflecting on the unit launch activity (with our new Vex Robots), the team shared observations and envisioned future iterations to ensure deeper student connections to targeted learning goals. In addition to informing future instruction, the team and I have already made some adjustments to this unit to allow students to further explore our Vex Go robots as and when connections arise throughout the unit.
